Hi! I’m Carey, the Homeowner
I purchased 7214 Fremont back in 2019 and have been planning a full-scale reno for some time. My work as a partner at a local architecture firm has kept me busy on other families’ homes, but now the time has come to give my little window’d gem a new lease on life!
Sustainability is the name of my game. Instead of scraping the home and building a freshy, I wanted to reimagine the home as it was — preserving the character (the fabulous windows) and utilizing the existing materials. In order to create an additional dwelling unit at the ground level, I needed to raise the house by 2ft to bring the ceilings up to code. So now my gal is on stilts!

KICKSTARTER / GET INVOLVED / KICKSTARTER
Sometimes, it actually does take a village. And that village flavor will bring the Burrow (the guest flat) to life! Utilizing the power of the world wide web, we will be crowd-sourcing local skillsets, tools and labor — as well as taking pledges via Kickstarter in exchange for some pretty sweet swag and exclusive Airbnb stays.
